Satellite Petrochemical's 450kt/a PDH Phase II project was successfully put into operation
On February 13, 2019, Satellite Petrochemical announced that the company's 450kt/a PDH Phase II project was successfully put into operation during the Spring Festival, the equipment was operating stably, and the pcapacity was basically at full capacity. The company's total propylene capacity reached 900kt/a. The project uses UOP Oleflex technology. The successful commissioning of the project laying a foundation for the company to enter the C2 industrial chain and enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of C3 industrial chain
The company's 150kt/a polypropylene technical transformation project, 360kt/a acrylic acid and 360kt/a acrylate project, 60kt/a SAP technical transformation phase III project is progressing as planned, which expected to continue put into operation in 2019. In addition, the company's light hydrocarbon cracking project has successfully obtained the Lianyungang EIA approval in January 2019.

Juzhengyuan's 1.2Mt/a high performance polypropylene project has entered the stage of intense construction and sprint, and it is planned to produce qualified products in the first half of 2019. During the Spring Festival, the company's main responsible leaders and employees fought in the first line to ensure safe and efficient completion of construction tasks. Olefins Feedstock Diversification Forum 2019 will be held on Mar. 27-28 in Guangzhou, China. Propylene Derivatives Tech & Market Forum 2019 will be held on Mar. 28-29 in Guangzhou, China. An industrial visiting to Juzhengyuan 1.2Mt/a PDH project will be arranged.
Shenzhen Juzhengyuan Co., Ltd. propane dehydrogenation to high performance polypropylene project is located in Lisha Island, Shatian Port Area, Humen Port, Dongguan City. It mainly constructs two sets PDH devices, with total propylene capacity of 1.2Mt/a, using Lummus Catofin technology, with a total investment of about CNY10.5bn. Among, the first phase of the project investment of about CNY6bn, planning to build a 600kt/a PDH unit, two sets of 300kt/a PP plant and related supporting public works .
Meide Petrochemical 2*800kt/a PDH project Phase I will be put into operation in the third quarter of 2019
During the festival, Fuqing Jiangyin Port Zhongjing Petrochemical Science and Technology Park is also a busy construction scene. The first phase of the 2*800kt/a PDH project of Meide Petrochemical is in full swing. Strive to complete the construction task as soon as possible. At present, the project has entered the equipment installation phase and is expected to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2019.
Fujian Meide Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is PDH project mainly constructs 2*800kt/a PDH unit and adopts UOP OleflexC3 process technology. The first phase will build a 800kt/a PDH unit with an investment of CNY4.5bn. Propylene will be used by the brother company Zhongjing Petrochemical and Zhongjiang Petrochemical new PP plants.
Until now, China had a total of 13 PDH and mixed-alkane dehydrogenation projects in operation, involving a total propylene capacity of 5.57Mt/a, accounting for 15.8% of China's total propylene capacity, PDH is the major sources of propylene in China. While with profit conditions continuing to be good, another wave of PDH project investment has started.
At present, there are more than 20 PDH projects under construction in China or in the early stage of work. There are also a large number of enterprises planning second phase projects and new PDH projects. It is estimated that by the end of 2023, China's PDH capacity will reach 9Mt/a, accounting for 18% of China's total propylene capacity.
