On 15:50 Oct 29th 2019, the world biggest gasifiers installed in Inner Mongolia 400kt/a coal to ethylene glycol & 300kt/a poly-methoxy- dimethyl ether cyclic economy demo project succeeded in initial start-up.
The project was reported of CNY7.68bn budgetary capital, and EPC contracted construction was formally initiated in Nov 2017 on a site of 1268mu area. It uses OMB gasification process in CO/H2 production to feed indirect EG process, as well as syngas to feed methanol indirect DMMn process.
Main construction scope of the project covers 3 x 4000t/d WCS gasifiers (Yankuang& ECUST jointly developed OMB WCS gasification process, with currently world biggest gasifier size), gas cleaning (CO reforming, rectisol, CO cryogenic separation, PSA hydrogen unit), sulfur recovery, 900kt/a methanol, 400kt/a EG, 300kt/a DMMn, 2×92000Nm3/h ASUs (so far the biggest size on the world), 2×380t/h HP circulated fluidized bed boilers +2×20 MW back pressure extraction turbine generator packages, as well as auxiliary and utility facilities.
