Thinke Membrane Materials: One of Two Earliest Enterprises Realize Perfluorinated Ion Exchange Membrane Continuous Production, Products Widely Apply to FC, VRB and Water Electrolysis to Hydrogen Field

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) is core module of fuel cell stack and which main roles are: 1. Provide electrolyte with hydrogen ion channel; 2. As separator, separating reaction gas of 2 poles. PEM also needs to play a role of support to catalyst layer. Performance of PEM directly influence characteristics of fuel cell.

 

By types, PEM can be divided into perfluorosulfonic PEM, partly fluorinated PEM, non-fluorinated PEM, composite PEM and high-temperature PEM etc.

Suzhou Thinke New Materials Co. Ltd. was founded in 2003, and established by YANG Dawei, expert of National Ten-thousand Talents Program. It is the enterprise which realize industrialization of perfluorinated ion exchange membrane, first in China; besides, it is currently one of two national high-tech enterprises which can realize batched production of perfluorinated ion exchange membrane in China. Up to now, the company owns more than 30 technology patents on perfluorinated ion exchange membrane (among, one PCT international patent). The company launches long-term technology cooperation on the ion membranes with Xiamen University and has many technical R&D staffs which are above PhD degrees.

 

Since founded, the company has already awarded national high-tech enterprise, Jiangsu Private Science & Technology Enterprise, National Key New Product, National Innovative Fund Proposal Product, National Invention Patent Award Gold Award, Jiangsu Science & Technology 3rd Prize, Jiangsu High-tech Product, Huai’an Science & Technology Progress Award etc.; undertakes national innovative funds, Jiangsu major science and technology achievements transform, Jiangsu science & technology support plans and Huai’an major science and technology achievements transform etc. multi governments’ major topics.

 

The company has 10,000-level constant temperature and constant humidity ion exchange membrane dust-free preparation workshop and 3 perfluorinated ion exchange membrane production lines, can annual produce 300k m2 perfluorinated ion exchange membrane at present, provide China fuel cells, vanadium redox batteries, water electrolysis to hydrogen etc. industries with perfluorinated ion exchange membranes which can largely replacing import products, and have exported to South Korea, Japan, Germany, Canada, Singapore etc. many developed countries. Currently, the company developed 10μm composite PEM has reached international advanced level, provide China fuel cell industry with most cost performance domestic core materials.

 

Products of Thinke New Materials mainly are the NEPEM®-11 series, NEPEM®-21/21C series, NEPEM®-301PT series, NEPEM®-41 series, NEPEM®-51 series ionic membrane products, NEPEM®1000 series perfluorinated ion exchange resins and NEPEM®-PIES fluorosulfonic acid ion exchange solutions etc.

 

NEPEM® series perfluorinated ion exchange membrane is ion exchange membrane uses brand new tape casting to prepare, and which has the advantages of high tensile strength, isotropy and high conductivity, good chemical performance etc., besides, it has the effect of self-humidification.
