On Jun 12th, Tianjin Bohua 1.80Mt/a MTO unit was proven a success in initial start-up by smooth output of on-spec ethylene and propylene products.
The project is to convert 1.80Mt/a methanol raw material and produce 328kt/a ethylene and 349kt/a propylene, to suffice raw supply to the company’s VCM, PO/SM and PP production. The MTO unit applies CAS DICP 2nd generation DMTO proprietary process and US Lummus licensed olefin separation process.
Successful commissioning of the MTO unit in recent days has secured sufficient raw material reserve for the company’s downstream 300kt/a PP production. As of the date, the PP unit is kept in stable operation with gradually increased output of on-spec PP products.
On Jun 21st, Tianjin Bohua PC Center announced success of initial start-up of the propylene section of PO/SM unit and obtaining of on-spec PO product.
On Jun 27th, the whole PO/SM unit, of 200kt/a propylene oxide + 450kt/a styrene monomer capacity, contracted to Tianchen Engineering to build, achieved success of commissioning and obtained on-spec products.
