On Sep 16th, CHN Energy Group held an inauguration ceremony in Baotou City for Baotou CTO process upgrading demo project.
The project is a process upgrading demo applied by CHN Energy Baotou Coal Chemical Co Ltd on the basis of the built and in years operation world first CTO process demo unit, construction scope would include, based on CNY17.15bn investment, 2Mt/a methanol, 750kt/a polyolefins and, through simultaneous planning & construction with a new energy plant, realizing coal chemical and green power/green H2/green O2 deeply coupled development.
The project would apply advanced process and energy efficient, environment friendly technologies, with almost all the key equipment locally procured, to achieve the unit energy/water use efficiency indices meeting to or better than the industry benchmark level. After completion of the project, CHN Energy Baotou Coal Chemical would hold up to 3.8Mt/a methanol, 1.35Mt/a polyolefins, and 7.8Mt/a coal conversion capacities.
