ASIACHEM Interview: Jiping New Energy – Significance Meaning of Fuel Cell Key Materials Localization and Mass Production

Currently, China most fuel cell parts need to be imported and lots of technologies are mastered by abroad enterprises. Quite high cost is not benefit for the popularization and application of fuel cells and which needs to decrease urgently. Fuel cell key materials localization and mass production is expected to realize cost continuous decreasing and it is the only option which can realize fuel cell industry healthy development.

 

Organized by ASIACHEM, 2nd Fuel Cells and Key Materials Forum 2019 will be held in Guangzhou on Jul 11-12, 2019. The conference will discuss global and China fuel cell development current situation and market prospect, fuel cell standard and test technology, stack intelligent manufacture and performance increase, MEA preparation technology route and quality control, fuel cell key material – bipolar plate, PEM, catalyst & GDL technology progress and performance optimization, fuel cell air & hydrogen supply system, SOFC technology R&D, key material and power station application experience etc.

ASIACHEM: Please introduce characteristics of catalyst products of your company

 

Jiping fuel cell catalyst technology has characteristics of nano particles and precious metals chemistry. Catalyst team has abundant precious metals chemistry and colloid chemistry knowledge and experience. Uses unique platinum chemistry and precursor treating technology, special carbon granule treating method, making catalyst granule adhering and dispersing. Meanwhile, the company researched and developed unique alloy catalyst and ternary catalyst, to increase durability.

 

ASIACHEM: Please introduce characteristics of gas diffusion layer (GDL) products of your company

 

Jiping fuel cell GDL technology has characteristics of paste formulation method and procedure of forming uniform micro-porous layer. A good GDL could make gas uniform diffuse to catalyst layer to 3-phase reaction and structure needs to be benefit for water emission; in paste, granule diffusion is good and will not be united when GDL is forming; paste flow property is good and stable, and suits for printing; pre distribution control is good, making MEA keep good performance under wide humidity range. Jiping GDL team has abundant formula and materials science knowledge and experiences. Uses suitable surface property’s carbon granule and optimizes chemical agents and operation machines make paste stable and flow property suits for printing on porous carbon carriers.

 

ASIACHEM: What is your company’s market expansion and future development plans?

 

Jiping catalyst products mainly are Pt/C and Pt/alloy, we have standard Pt/alloy products, but we can also provide customized products according to clients’ requests, in 2019, our planned output is 1kg/d and can expand to 3~5kg/d according to market requirement; GDL planned output is 100m2/d and can expand to 200~300m2/d according to market requirement.

 

ASIACHEM: Review on China fuel cell industry current situation and future

 

Advance localization, domestic and mass production of MEA key materials, reach target of fuel cell stack cost decrease, and make fuel cell fully commercialization in China. Jiping aims at leading China fuel cell industry to bright future and provide teenagers with more working opportunities.
